Join us for a tour of the fantastic EAA AirVenture Museum which is also home to the world famous Fly In held each year in July. With a collection of more than 200 historic airplanes along with world-class galleries and displays, the EAA AirVenture Museum is a must visit destination, combining the passion of aviation's past with the promise of its exciting future.
Our visit will begin with a movie: Oshkosh – the spirit of aviation. It will be followed by a docent led tour covering the highlights of the museum.
After the tour you will have an hour of free time in which to explore the museum further on your own and/or visit the gift shop. Some information on the current and permanent exhibits can be viewed by clicking here.
One of the highlights of the tour will be a special rare WWII Nose Art Exhibit from the Commemorative Air Force collection which is headquartered in Dallas, Texas and which has never before on loan to another museum. It consists of over 30 pieces of nose art from actual World War II combat aircraft. The artifacts have been designated by the National Trust for Historical Preservation as an official project of Save America’s Treasures, which seeks to preserve historic structures, art, and published works throughout the nation. Learn more about this exhibit when you click here.
After the tour we will then board the bus to Becket’s in downtown Oshkosh which is on the riverfront. Becket’s is ranked number 14 of the 135 restaurants in Oshkosh on Tripadvisor. A private room will be reserved for us and you can order a la carte off the menu (NOTE: lunch is not included in the trip price; each person will order and pay separately). View the menu options here.
If you would prefer to bring a sack lunch the Riverside park / Riverwalk is across the street.
