Join us on Tuesday, July 11 for the Restoration Comedy: A Flea in Her Ear in the Up-the-Hill Theatre. Written by Georges Feydeau. Directed by David Frank.

The Funniest French Confection Ever to Frost a Stage 

Featuring: Tracy Michelle Arnold, Kelsey Brennan, Nate Burger, David Daniel, Colleen Madden, Jonathan Smoots & Marcus Truschinski

Synopsis

The lovely Raymonde Chandebise wonders why her husband has stopped visiting her bedroom, and assumes he must be having an affair. So she asks her friend Lucienne to write him a love letter meant to lure him to a rendezvous where she can catch him in the act of being unfaithful. 

But when Raymonde’s (very faithful) husband Victor Emmanuel receives the letter, he assumes it’s for his bachelor friend Tournel and gives it to him instead, setting in motion a hilarious series of events that bounces from the Chandebise home to a hotel of ill repute, where anything (and apparently everyone) goes.

A Flea in Her Ear Two Ticket Ordering Options:

1) PLATO Member and Guest ticket seating will be in Very Fine Section 6 and close to the stage.

Optional Box Dinner may be added @ $15.00, as well as, extra tickets for friends who will meet you at APT @ $39.00.

PICNIC DINNER SELECTIONS

Smoked Turkey Sandwich: Thinly sliced smoked turkey, baby Swiss cheese, fresh spring greens on freshly baked focaccia, with basil-pesto mayo on the side. $15.00 

Roast Beef and Havarti Sandwich: Roast beef, Havarti cheese, arugula, red onion on ciabatta bread, with horseradish mayo on the side. $15.00

Vegetarian Caprese Sandwich: Ciabatta bread topped with fresh mozzarella, lettuce, tomato and pesto sauce. $15.00 

Vegetarian Greek Pita Sandwich: Avocado, feta cheese, cucumber, purple cabbage, red bell pepper and arugula in a wheat pita with a feta dill sauce. $15.00

Goat Cheese, Chicken Breast and Almond Salad: Fresh greens topped with grilled chicken breast, almonds and goat cheese. Served with vinaigrette dressing on the side. $15.00

Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad: Fresh greens topped with grilled chicken breast, chopped bacon, egg, and diced tomato. Served with housemade bleu cheese dressing on the side. $15.00

All picnic dinners are served cold and include Mediterranean pasta salad, diced fruit and a brownie.



Note: We have reserved the star tent nestled in a tree-lined alcove in the center of the picnic grounds for our picnic dinner. It has a star-shaped canopy with open sides and enough picnic tables to accommodate 70 persons, making it easy for us to spread out and be comfortable.


2) Order your own tickets and ride the PLATO Bus @ $18.00.

3) Order your own tickets and ride the PLATO Bus @ $18.00 and add a Picnic Dinner ($15) for a total of $33.00.

Itinerary

Bear in mind that our boarding bus route is like Madison Metro or any other municipal bus service. Please arrive early at your boarding stop so you don’t miss the bus. When everyone is aboard and seated, we leave. Arrive early and we will all arrive at American Players Theatre on time to begin our adventure.

– Don’t be late. We can wait just 5 minutes at any one location.

– Pack water bottles and snacks for sustenance on the trip.

 

Leave Madison

4:00 PM      Bus  arrives at East Towne Sears to begin boarding.

4:25 PM     Arrives at Capitol Lakes

4:50 PM     Arrives at Oakwood Village West

5:00 PM    Departs for American Players Theatre (Or, sooner if everyone is aboard)

5:45 PM     Arrive APT

Accessibility Policy.On the Badger Bus, you must be able to climb steps to board and exit the bus. If you need assistance, we recommend that you bring a friend to give you a hand.

Guest Policy.  Members must register their guests. Each PLATO member is entitled to bring one non-member guest per bus trip. (Members may bring more than one guest near the registration Deadline Date if seats are available. 

Check with the trip organizer.) Non-member guests pay an additional $15.00 registration fee. PLATO Membership is $60.00/year.
