Fall Course Enrollment Opens on Tuesday August 20, 2019
Many courses continue each semester with new ideas and discussions. Some new courses are added to the Fall list.
Be sure to enroll in courses that have participant limits soon. Check to see if you need to enroll before the course begins or just show up for the first class.
Enrollment for courses always begins four weeks before the courses start. Also, the beginning of the course enrollment begins on a Tuesday and is announced in the PLATO weekly email.
Included in this Fall's line-up are new courses:
- Science for Seniors
- The History of WWII
- Moby Dick
- Philosophies of the Good Life
Among the many continuing courses familiar titles are:
- Managing your Money
- Short Stories and Essays
- The Native Peoples for Wisconsin Pt. 2
- The Play’s the Thing
PLATO has been offering courses since the organization began in 1987. The organization began as a way for retired people to continue learning and sharing what they know through courses set up by members who volunteered their expertise or interests with other members.
Now PLATO offers more than 100 courses throughout the year. Each Fall about 50 courses are offered. In Spring there are about 40 courses while the Winter and Summer sessions offer between 5 through 8 courses each.
Thanks to the many volunteer coordinators who offer these courses.
