This course builds on the Fall 2015 class as we continue to explore how racial injustice and inequality affects us and how we can effect change. This course is accepting new participants.  You need not have been part of the Fall 2015 course in order to participate in the Spring 2016 offering!  Contact Course Coordinator Rick Orton for more information ( rickorton@tds.net or 271-9219.) We will read and discuss two books: Deep Diversity: Overcoming Us vs. Themby Shakil Choudhury and Dog Whistle Politics: How Coded Racial Appeals Have Reinvented Racism and Wrecked the Middle Classby Ian Haney Lopez. We will also welcome guest lecturers from the Madison community. To fully engage in this series, see the expanded reading list with fall titles which provide essential background. This course requires a high level of commitment in weekly class discussion
