This four-part course begins with the Old Testament and Paul’s letters. We watch Bible experts, professors Cynthia Chapman and Bart Ehrman, present DVD lectures on these topics. We also read excerpts from writings of Jewish, Protestant, Catholic, agnostic and atheist Bible scholars, including Chapman and Ehrman, as well as James Kugel, Luke Johnson, Jodi Magness, John Spong and many others. In addition, we explore the emergence of Higher Criticism and how it continues to flourish today. Please join us for open-minded, tolerant and stimulating discussion. All opinions are welcome.
