If you ever wondered “Why can’t we all just get along” join in reading and discussing Isaiah Berlin’s The Crooked Timber of Humanity (2nd Edition). The author proposes that there are many different ends that people may seek and still be fully rational, fully human, and reasonably capable of understanding each other. In defending the endangered values of individual liberty and moral and political plurality, he links the ideas of the past with the social and political problems of our own time while offering his ideas on how to bridge the gap between conflicting ideologies – and not a moment too soon?
