Each session will feature recordings of about 15 hit songs of the year. The music will be interspersed with the news events of the year, with examples of ways in which the music reflected public reaction to the Depression and the Coming of War. Also included will be human interest stories—the emergence of Shirley Temple—and sports—“Dizzy Dean traded to Cubs.”
