Physics and Society: War on Science

Name Email Phone
Don Reeder    608-238-3903

We will explore the intended and un-intended consequences of the polarization of societal attitudes toward Science. In particular, the alignment of the opposing viewpoints with the political parties in the US. As we develop a more and inter-related complex society, the inclusion of facts in the formation of policy will be increasingly important. The primary reference will be a new book by Shawn Otto entitled The War on Science, Milkweed Editions.
