The Agora name comes from the ancient Greek agora, the marketplace where citizens gathered to share ideas.
The Agora is created by and published for members, and made available to the wider Dane County community through libraries, senior centers, retirement centers, and our website. The first volume of The Agora was published in 2011
Submission Deadline March 1, 2021
The Editorial Board of The Agora is actively seeking submissions of original works by PLATO members for the 2021 edition (volume 7) in the following categories:
Poetry
Fiction
Non- Fiction (short stories, and essays including history, science, current events, etc.)
Visual Arts (including painting, sculpture, and photography)
Interested members are encouraged to submit up to three pieces in one or more of the categories (poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and visual arts). Final selections for inclusion in Volume 7 will be determined through blind juried review.

The PLATO Agora Editorial Board looks forward to receiving submissions from PLATO members by the March 1, 2021 deadline for the seventh volume of The Agora that is scheduled for publication in the summer of 2021.
