The focus of this course is to read and critique contemporary mystery novels and short stories.
Members take turns leading the discussion focusing on the author, the settings, the characters, plot development, and story conclusion. Full-length novels alternate weekly with short stories. The short stories are selected from the anthology, The Big Book of Female Detectives edited by Otto Penzler.
The first novel to be reviewed on Sept 30th is “All the Devils are Here” by Louise Penny.
Books and stories are chosen at the end of each semester for the next semester.
