Alzheimer’s disease has a lengthy pre-clinical phase that for some people may last decades. In this talk Dr. Johnson will share the latest discoveries made from the Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer's Research (WRAP) regarding brain and eventual cognitive changes that occur prior to the dementia phase of Alzheimer’s disease.
Sterling Johnson is a clinical neuropsychologist and neuroscientist focused on understanding age and AD-related changes in brain and cognition. He leads the Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer’s Prevention which is a cohort of 1,680 individuals enriched with people at risk for sporadic AD who enrolled in this observational study at midlife (mean age 54). In addition to WRAP he is also the Associate Director and Biomarker Core Leader in the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) which supports a range of investigators from trainees to faculty.
