Tending Our Grief:

A Self-Care Workshop

Thursday, December 2, 1:30 - 3:00 p.m.

Online via Zoom or by Phone

Registration Required

Workshop Description:

The holiday season can be a time of great joy but it can also be a time when many of us (and the people we love) struggle with complicated emotions and grief. Join us on Thursday, December 2nd at 1:30pm to learn about various types of grief and discover some healthy ways to potentially work with it. This 90-minute workshop will offer participants an opportunity to learn, self-reflect and connect with fellow PLATO members in small break-out groups because community witnessing can help us integrate both individual and collective grief. Give yourself the gift of self-care this December – you deserve it!

Grief Support Specialists:

Stephanie Steigerwaldt and Julie Swanson, co-founders of Endings Matter, are grief support specialists certified through the Grief Support Specialist Program at the UW-Madison Division of Continuing Studies. Endings Matter is a project of What’s Possible Now that emerged as a response to COVID-19 and these unprecedented times. At Endings Matter, Stephanie and Julie leverage their experience as graphic facilitators and storypreneurs to co-create virtual and in-person spaces that support individuals and groups engaged in healing work and self-care. They have facilitated multiple online grief support workshops since the pandemic began to support parents of children with mental health challenges and the general public through lecture, ritual design and The Circle Way.
