Join us as we visit the nation’s largest freshwater and cattail marsh, which is also an excellent birding site with over 300 bird species known to visit.  First we will go to Horicon Marsh Boat Tours at Blue Heron Landing in Horicon on the South end and see a short film on the marsh. Next we will take a 2 hour partially covered pontoon boat ride into the heart of the marsh with a nature guide helping us to see and identify birds and wildlife.  After this we’ll head to Waupun where we will have an all-included buffet lunch.  And finally we will head to the private Marsh Haven Nature Center on the North end of the marsh. There we will stay about an hour and people can either visit the nature center exhibits, and/or take a mostly flat and easy 1 hour boardwalk and lawn walk.  The walk will be led by a naturalist and we will be monitoring the 40 plus nests in the preserve and seeing what wildlife are choosing to raise their young there.
