  • Social and Economic Inequality: Past Present and Future

The course will focus on the historical impact of social, racial, and economic inequality on current American Culture, and possible solutions going forward. The objective will be to involve the participants in informed discussions about these issues, how they are interrelated, and how they might be addressed with policies and programs at the federal, state and local level.  Both Alan and Tim have extensive work and life experience working with issues of poverty, race and class, economic insecurity, disabilities, etc.

Weekly suggested readings will be sent out and in-class short videos and presentations will be used to stimulate discussion.
