How Does Religion Evolve? Part 4

Name Email Phone
Tom Schlicht No email 608-831-6593

We continue our study of the evolution of religion by looking at religion and violence. We focus on our American religious traditions’ but also consider other religions around the globe and throughout the ages.

Our special concern is violence and threats of violence in the texts and practices of various faiths.

We watch DVD lectures by professors of religion, mythology, history, and archaeology; and read excerpts from the writings of other experts. Part of one lecture series we watch is Professor Jason Bivins’ “Thinking About Religion and Violence.”

Join us for open, tolerant discussion and some occasional humor.
