Celebrate Art and Flowers

After a hiatus last year the Art in Bloom exhibit  is back at the Milwaukee Art Museum from March 17-20. Our visit will be on Friday, March 18 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

You won’t want to miss this one-of-kind special exhibit.   Designers create art-inspired floral installations. The result is a spectacular feast for the eyes. Docents will take us on a highlights tour from 10:15 AM - 11:15 AM

Afterward you’ll have plenty of time to revisit favorite pieces and experience the exhibit on your own, browse the Marketplace, with gifts to delight gardeners and art lovers alike, and have lunch.

The new major exhibition, Nature and the American Vision: The Hudson River School  will have just opened, and is not part of Art in Bloom floral displays. Be sure to take time to experience the majesty of these famous works. To learn more, click here.

The Museum has three options for lunch:

  • Cafe Calatrava is the museum's signature restaurant. It opens at 11:00 AM and will be serving special lunch entrees to complement the Art in Bloom exhibition.

(Tip: Make a lunch reservation to avoid waiting, 414-224-3831,

  • Art in Bloom's  large heated white wine garden enclosure providing an outdoor patio ambiance in which to order and enjoy lunch.
  • Windhover Coffee in Windhover Hall featuring Stone Creek Coffee

East End Wine Bar overlooking Lake Michigan in the new East End addition serving European Small Plates. (Menu)

What better way to get ready to celebrate the Spring Equinox (March 20) than to join us for Art in Bloom on March 18.
