Experience Man of La Mancha as you never have before, up close and personal in the intimate Quadracci Powerhouse.

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score, it’s the classic story of Don Quixote retold in one of the most beloved musicals of all time.

Imprisoned by the Spanish Inquisition, Miguel de Cervantes enlists his fellow inmates to help his defense by telling a tale of a mad knight who believes the wrongs of the world can be corrected as he jousts at windmills with his trusty sidekick Sancho and his beloved Dulcinea.

With beautiful songs like “The Impossible Dream” and “Dulcinea,” this timeless tale of love and adventure continues The Rep’s popular streak of bringing the best of Broadway to the intimate Powerhouse stage.

Featuring Milwaukee Native And Broadway Star
Nathaniel Stampley
As Don Quixote

What’s Man of La Mancha? Should I see it?
It’s an adventurous tale of a knight’s heroic battle. It’s a fairy tale with a tragic love story. It’s a tale of an old man gone mad and his family searching desperately for him. It’s all of those things and more. With incredible songs that you know and love, you won’t want to miss The Rep’s next big musical.

Free Time 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM

 Enjoy Lunch & Explore

Option 1 – will be attractive to those who enjoy lunch on their own and want free time to explore downtown Milwaukee. There are two bus drop-off locations from which to begin.

Bus Drop 1A: Milwaukee Public Market.  There are many nearby Third Ward restaurants from which to choose, including the Milwaukee Public Market that contains eight distinctive eateries.

For those choosing Bus Drop A who want to attend the Rep In-Depth pre-talk, our bus will return to pick you up at 12:25 PM and get you to the theater in time for its 12:45 start.

Note: if you want to spend more time in the Third Ward, the Milwaukee Rep is a short walk north on Water St. (5 blocks or 0.4 mile) and is located on NW corner of Water and Wells Streets. Our play begins at 1:30 PM

Bus Drop 1B: On Wells Street in front of the Milwaukee Rep entrance. There are many downtown restaurants located within walking distance from the theater, including those across the river and along the Riverwalk.

For those wanting to explore the neighborhood around the theater, there are the Old World Third Street, Riverwalk and neighborhood restaurants

PLATO Member favorites: Rock Bottom Brewery across the river.  Two blocks north on Water Street are the Water Street Brewery (Downtown) and Vagabond Mexican Restaurant located right behind the Water Street Brewery on Edison.

Also nearby are The Watts Tea Shop and The Café At The Pfister (Reservations Recommended)

Perhaps the most convenient to the Rep, is the Kil@Wat restaurant, which is in the Intercontinental Hotel, located on the second floor. (Did you know that the Clear Lounge Bar in the hotel lobby serves the same Kil@Watt menu items. Simply order from the bartender.)

Since you will be so close to the Rep, you will have more time for lunch and exploring downtown before the performance begins at 1:30 PM.

Option 2 – will be appealing to those who want to more fully explore the play rather than the neighborhood. The bus stop is on Wells Street in front of the Milwaukee Rep entrance.

The Rep Speaker Luncheon is held in the Galleria of the Intercontinental Hotel. Use the Rep main entrance. Walk to the Rotunda. Turn right and walk a short distance. Turn left to enter the hotel.  The Galleria (art gallery) will be on your right.

Afterwards, from the Rep Speaker Luncheon to Attend Rep In-Depth, it is a leisurely walk back to the rotunda. Take the elevator to the Mezzanine, or walk up the two short flights of stairs of the white marble staircase to the Quadracci Powerhouse Theater Mezzanine Level Entrance.  The Rep In-Depth pre-talk begins at 12:45 PM.
