Did you know that Dorothy Height (March 24, 1912 – April 20, 2010) was one of the most influential women of the modern civil rights movement. Called the "Grandmother of the Civil Rights Movement" by President Obama in her eulogy, Height was instrumental in the organization and execution of the March on Washington and was the only woman seated on the platform during those historical speeches.
