Virtually everything that you enjoy about PLATO – the courses, the lectures, the trips, the publications – is available solely because of the efforts of members like yourself. Whatever your skills, there is a place for you as a PLATO volunteer!

Below are some of the ways you can get involved:

Do you have a passion for a subject that you want to share with others? If so, become a Course Coordinator.

Do you like working with others to accomplish a goal? If so, join one of our committees:

  • Do you want to help make interesting courses available to other learners? If so, the Curriculum Committee would be a good choice for you.
  • Is the planning and organizing of trips, lectures and other special events your forte? Then consider joining the Special Events Committee.
  • If you like to write, or develop marketing and communication projects, the Communication Committee would be a good choice for you.
  • Would you like to introduce others to the benefits of PLATO and work to promote volunteerism from within? If so, the Membership Committee could make use of your skills.
  • If literature, art or photography are your forte, then submit your best to the PLATO Agora. And if you’re interested in publishing a literary journal, become part of the AGORA Editorial Board.
  • Do you want to provide opportunities for PLATO members to share their creativity (music, art, theater) with other members in a casual setting?  Consider joining the Arts CafĂ© planning team.
  • If you’re experienced or interested in fundraising, the Fund Development Committee has a place for you.
  • The Technology Committee is looking for people interested in researching, evaluating, and recommending new technologies for PLATO use.  Members would assist other committees in the adoption and use of online tools like Google Apps, Google Analytics, SurveyMonkey, social media and other web- based services.

Do you have administrative skills? If so, you can provide support/back-up to our office operations.
