Mary Anderson (February 19, 1866 – June 27, 1953) was the inventor of windshield wiper blades. After watching trolley drivers need to stop their trolleys to get out and clear off their windshields during snowy weather, she came up with a solution. Anderson was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2011, nearly 100 years after her patent was approved. Learn more here.
