Join us for The Royale - the third play in our eight-play Milwaukee Rep field trip series. The Royale is a new play staged in the smaller Stiemke Studio for an intimate theatrical experience.

A BRILLIANT NEW PLAY
Ray “The Sport” Jackson wants nothing more than to prove he’s the best boxer in the world but in the Jim Crow era, his chances are as good as knocked out. When a crooked boxing promoter hatches a plan for “the fight of the century,” The Sport just might land a place in the ring with the reigning white heavyweight champion. Set in a boxing ring and inspired by the true story of the boxer who broke the color barrier in professional sports, The Royale packs a punch that will leave you breathless.
Watch a sneak peek of The Royale with David St Louis at Centre Theater Group.

Directions to the Stiemke Studio: The Stiemke Studio is located on the ground floor of the Milwaukee Center Rotunda in the northwest corner near the gold escalator.
The Stiemke Studio black box is a blank canvas for the designers; typically seating just over 200, patrons may be seated in two sections of seats looking down at either side of the action taking place in an aisle down the middle or more traditional banks of raked seating.
Everything in this space can be changed to best suit the director’s concept for the show and no two shows in this space are alike.

The outer lobby of the Stiemke Studio, where one first enters, includes a Concierge where you can check out assistive listening devices, purchase parking passes for the Milwaukee Center Garage, check your coat or pick up a large print program.
The lobby includes seating, standing cocktail tables, and bar offering drinks and concessions.
Milwaukee Rep’s Stiemke Studio is handicapped accessible. However, each seating row is elevated above the proceeding row in a stepped-bleacher section configuration. There is handrail support on the outer stairway of each section.
