Have you as a Wisconsin citizen ever wondered how so many Latinos/Hispanics have settled in our State throughout our history? If your curiosity is piqued, consider attending The History of Latino Migration to Wisconsin.

Martin Alvarado works at the Madison Public Library as the Community Engagement Librarian for Business and Technology.  Martin was born in and grew up in Mexico City. He moved to Madison in the mid 1990’s. He has had the fortune of growing up in a bicultural and bilingual household which has given him different perspectives on identity and what it means to belong in a community.

Martin’s current work projects include working with entrepreneurs, promoting the worker cooperative business model, supporting the learning of digital skills, and helping the community collect oral histories through The Madison Living History Project.  He has an Associate of Arts degree from Madison Area Technical College, a Bachelor of Science degree in geology and geophysics from UW-Madison, and a Masters of Library and Information Science from the UW-Milwaukee.

FREE TO PLATO MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS BUT REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THE LINK TO ATTEND.  PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE THE EVENT STARTS.  QUESTIONS CAN BE WRITTEN IN DURING THE EVENT.
