During this course participants will read assigned texts and engage in discussions about history and social change, as well as reflect and reminisce about personal experiences. They will also discuss the quality of writing, the topic’s relevance today, setting, character development and point of view. Books include: The Coincidence of the Coconut Cake, by Amy E. Reichert, and South of Luck, by Jim Guhl. October 6: Overview of Midwestern History and Literature

October 20: Discussion of Literary Devices

November 3: Discussion of 1^st book

November 17: Discussion of 2^nd Book
