Want to better understand both serious and humorous poetry? In this class we rely on several experts, professors who clearly explain the techniques needed to improve our reading and interpreting skills with many poems explained. Those who want to use these skills creatively may volunteer to write their own poems. This writing project is purely voluntary and so is reading your work aloud to the group. Poetry terms/definitions to aid discussion are provided. Those not writing may read aloud to the class short poems and/or brief bios of their favorite authors. Learning and laughter guaranteed.
