Description: Join us for a leisurely stroll through the gardens at their late summer best. Led by Carla DiIorio, we’ll cover your favorites such as the Rose Garden, the herb gardens and the Thai Pavilion. But we’ll also visit some areas you might not have seen yet. Hear a bit about the history of Olbrich and its namesake as we tread a variety of paths—most are brick paved, flag stone or fine-textured gravel.
Extra added attractions will be the art works installed throughout the gardens for the two month exhibit called GLEAM: Art in a new light. The works can be viewed in the daytime at no charge, although we hope you will return on your own in the evening darkness to see the art in its full enchanting beauty as the artists and lighting designers intend.
Parking & Location: Olbrich Gardens are located at 3330 Atwood Avenue. Parking is available adjacent to the Visitor Center.
Meeting Place: As you proceed into the Visitor Center you will see the entry into the gardens on your right. We will gather at 9:30 am at the outside bench area just as you enter the gardens.
Accessibility & Hearing Assists: The paths are accessible to walkers and wheelchairs. There also two scooters available for use. I will use a voice amplifier during the tour.
Pre-registration required by September 19th. Limit 20 people, bring a guest. Guests must also register.
